BRICK: The Ledger NFT Collab to disrupt the traditional music industry

Written by on September 13, 2022

BRICK is a crypto-meets-music venture strengthening the connection between the music industry and the crypto sphere. BRICK, co-founded by musicians Lee Spielman and Garrett Stevenson, promises to be a “music venue by night and a community-run creative space by day” and a metaverse music venue.

BRICK: So far, this is what we know

BRICK is the brainchild of Lee Spielman and Garrett Stevenson, who spent over a decade touring with hardcore punk band Trash Talk. They were inspired by the DIY punk scene and collaborated to create the concept for this new venture.

It will function as an artistic hub and be described as “a music venue by night and a community-run creative space by day.” In addition, it hopes to host live concerts, workshops, comedy shows, and financial literacy classes. That is due to BRICK’s collaboration with Ledger to teach artists about cryptocurrency and crypto security.

The project will purchase metaverse land in addition to a physical headquarters. It will host virtual concerts as well as crypto classes here. Overall, it’s safe to say that BRICK sounds like a musician’s dream.

BRICK Genesis Pass Information

The BRICK Genesis Pass pre-sale began on Wednesday, September 7th, and is now open to Ledger’s [L] Market Pass holders. Individuals interested in holding a Genesis Pass for 0.15 ETH can join the whitelist even if they do not have a Ledger [L] Market Pass.

According to the official website, half of the mint money will be used to rent the venue as well as pay for programming, staff, and other holder-approved activities. Furthermore, one week after the reveal, BRICK will hold a snapshot in which holders can claim a physical brick in the IRL venue’s wall.

Genesis Pass holders will also have a say in what BRICK does with the venue. They will receive free admission to all events with a plus-one, merchandise, access to workshops, and other benefits. They will also be able to attend metaverse and live-streamed events and token-gated masterclasses.

The music industry and Web3

BRICK is the latest in a series of music-meets-web3 ventures aimed at disrupting the traditional music industry. Undoubtedly, the link between music and web3 was highlighted recently when Snoop Dogg and Eminem performed at the VMAs with web3 assistance. However, it is safe to say that we are only scratching the surface of what web3 and music can accomplish together.
